In a recent report by the Spanish press, Nico Williams, the winger for Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team, has made a decisive call regarding his future.
Williams, 22, has been a standout performer, becoming a top priority for Barcelona this summer. His exceptional performance with the Spanish national team, contributing significantly to their UEFA Euro 2024 victory, has made him a coveted player.
The talented winger has also drawn interest from Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain.
However, according to the Catalan newspaper “Sport”, Williams has instructed his representatives to disregard all offers except for Barcelona’s. The report indicates that Williams is considering only two options this summer: joining Barcelona or staying with his current club, Athletic Bilbao.
The newspaper also mentioned that Barcelona plans to activate the release clause in Williams’ contract before mid-August, following the sale of some players and a reduction in their wage bill.
Williams is currently under contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2028, with a release clause valued at 58 million euros.
