Aston Villa Drops Interest in Barcelona’s Raphinha and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix

Spanish reports revealed today, Tuesday, that Aston Villa has decided against signing Barcelona’s Raphinha and Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Aston Villa has qualified for next season’s Champions League and is looking for high-profile signings to strengthen their squad.

However, according to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” Aston Villa has decided to drop their interest in Raphinha and Felix after inquiring about their availability this summer.

The reason behind Aston Villa’s decision is the financial demands of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, which amount to 70 million euros for each player.

Felix, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, no longer interests the Catalan club. Therefore, if no suitable offers are received for him, he will return to his parent club on the 27th of this month after his summer holiday.

Felix left Atletico last summer due to a dispute with coach Simeone, who excluded him from his plans.

At the same time, Barcelona needs to sell Raphinha to fund their new signings, but they have set a price of 70 million euros for his sale, which is beyond Aston Villa’s budget.
