Souness Criticizes Fernandes: Leadership Under Fire

Former Liverpool star Graeme Souness has renewed his sharp criticism of Manchester United’s Portuguese player, Bruno Fernandes.

In remarks relayed by the Daily Mail, Souness stated, “Bruno Fernandes gives up too easily when the team’s situation becomes dire.”

He continued, “The biggest example is when United was three goals down against Liverpool two seasons ago. Bruno raised the white flag, despite being the team’s captain.”

Souness added, “In times of crisis, the Portuguese player should keep running with zeal and assist his teammates to overcome the situation.”

He emphasized, “I don’t believe Bruno can change this aspect of himself. He is part of the problem, merely shrugging his shoulders and moving his arms around.”

He further noted, “I think current leaders tend to hide and avoid responsibility. The latest example was in Euro 2024.”
